Eric Burtzlaff, PE
Principal, Founder
Eric is the lead engineer and founder of Raptor Civil Engineering. Eric has worked in the Greater Denver area for over 10 years and has overseen hundreds of projects along the front range. Eric also has a passion for training and quality control within the firm. When he's not building the front range's next great civil engineering firm, Eric enjoys spending time with his family and living the Colorado lifestyle. He's also an avid golfer, skier, and poker player.
Darren Leveille, PLS
Principal
As a graduate of the Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSUD) I have spent my entire 30-year career providing Professional Surveying Services to the communities of the Denver Metropolitan Area and the State of Colorado.
I have achieved licensure in multiple states and currently hold registrations in the State of Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Utah, and New Mexico. During my 30-year career I have conducted survey field work, provided office calculations, and served as the Professional Land Surveyor in responsible charge for all aspects and disciplines within the surveying profession.
I have a love for the outdoors and enjoy my time away from the field and office playing golf and fishing.

Erica Engelhard, PE
Project Manager
Erica is a Project Manager at Raptor Civil Engineering who recently passed her Professional Engineering exam. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech who was born and raised in the Denver area. After graduating college, she worked in Virginia for a few years before making the leap back to Colorado. Erica joined the Raptor team in February of 2021 and has enjoyed helping build the company with her love of engineering and CAD and her high technical prowess. Outside of work she enjoys climbing, mountain biking, and skiing as well as taking care of her two adorable dogs

Liz Jones, PE
Project Manager
Liz is a project manager at Raptor and has been working in Colorado since 2019. She is originally from southern Virginia. Liz graduated in 2014 from Virginia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering and began her career in water/wastewater design. From here, she transitioned into site development work and since then has worked on a diverse array of projects in both the government and private sectors across multiple states. Liz especially enjoys mentoring and teaching staff and is passionate about producing high quality submittal packages. She moved to Colorado in 2019 and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, running, and playing soccer.


Hunter Julander, EI
Project Manager
Hunter is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder and has been living in the Denver area his entire life. Originally working as a Field Engineer in various construction companies, Hunter realigned his career path to pursue a Design Engineer position with Raptor. With his high attention to detail and endless work ethic, he provides a versatile role to our team and has quickly adapted to his new profession. Outside of work, Hunter enjoys everything outdoors and frequents the mountains to ski and go fly fishing. Sko buffs!
Sean Whitmore
Senior Field Technician
Sean Whitmore is a Senior SUE Field Technician who has been living and working in Colorado since 2000. He is originally from Ohio, and the NE. Sean graduated from Maine Maritime Academy, spending the first half of his career mostly offshore Louisiana working on Ultra Deepwater Drill Ships. Since then, he has built a strong reputation in the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Surveying sectors. In his off-time Sean enjoys raising two children with his wife and spending time outdoors in this beautiful state.

Smoot-Leyva, SIT
Senior Survey Technician
Jasmine is a Senior Survey Technician at Raptor from Dallas, Texas. She obtained her Land Survey Technologies degree from OSU in 2021, and is a certified Surveyor in Training currently working towards becoming a Professional Land Surveyor. In her free time, she enjoys listening to punk music, working on various DIY and arts-and-crafts projects, reading, and writing.
Shaun Thomson
Senior Survey Technician
Shaun is a Senior Survey Technician with over 20 years experience. He is originally from Phoenix, Az and in 2010 he got a job with a large construction company to help with the I-15 Core project in Provo, UT. Since then he has worked on large construction project like, UPRR intermodal in Santa Terisa, RTD A line to the airport in Denver, and was lead the surveyor for the C470 toll lane from I-25 to Wadsworth. Shaun enjoys mentoring and teaching staff how to produce high quality field surveys. He settled in Colorado in 2015 and enjoys hiking and camping with his 2 dogs, reading and playing video games.

Nolan Stuart, PE
Project Engineer I
Nolan is a Project Engineer at Raptor who is originally from the New England area. He got his Civil Engineering degree from Northeastern University in Boston before moving to Denver. With various experiences in all sectors of civil design and construction, he joined the Raptor team in May of 2022. He enjoys the unique challenges that every new project brings and is excited to see what’s next for the firm. Outside of work, he loves to hike, ski and do just about anything outside rain or shine.

Tucker Graczyk, PE
Project Engineer I
Tucker graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2018. Originally from the west coast, his love of the mountains and outdoors keeps him in Colorado and guides his desire for quality design. When he is not working, Tucker enjoys snowboarding and spending time with his family and dogs, Rocky and Remi.

Annaliese Long, PE
Project Engineer I
Annaliese, a project engineer at Raptor, is originally from the Philly area and graduated with a biological engineering degree from Penn State in 2019. Upon graduation, Annaliese began her site development career in the Mid-Atlantic region gaining extensive knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial development. She joined Raptor in 2024 after relocating to Colorado so she could be closer to the mountains. Annaliese is passionate about land development and delivering the highest quality product to each client. While not at work, she enjoys hiking, camping, travelling, and skiing.

Zachry Szura, PE
Project Engineer I
Zach graduated with a degree in Engineering from Fort Lewis College and has spent the entirety of his life in Colorado, growing up in Durango. Following graduating, Zach started his career designing on-site water treatment systems in the surrounding areas of Durango where he moved to Denver in 2022 to pursue further advancements. Zach started his path as a Design Engineer with a company primarily doing land development in the Phoenix area and recently made the move to Raptor as Design Engineer starting his journey in Colorado design. Outside of work, Zach spends his free time at the gym, golfing, snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family.

Nick Pezzuti, PE
Project Engineer I
Born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2021. I worked 3 years in private Land Development in Northern Virginia and 1 year on the public side of site design back in New Jersey. I made the leap to Denver and joined Raptor to get back to the private side of land development, while having more access to the outdoors. I love the pace of the private sector, as well as the process of solving complex problems as a team. Outside of work I enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and playing guitar.

Adam Hamilton, EI
Design Engineer III
Adam is a native to Colorado and a 2020 University of Wyoming Engineering graduate. Upon graduation, Adam joined a prominent Civil Engineering consulting firm in Omaha, Nebraska, where he gained roadway construction design and field experience. Prior to this, Adam gained hands-on experience designing and fabricating essential residential and commercial peripherals. At Raptor, Adam will be accountable for commercial and residential design engineering, which will capitalize on his keen ability to balance intellectual aptitude, in-field experience, and his engaging customer-oriented personality. Outside of work, Adam enjoys fishing in the summer, skiing in the winter, and hunting year-round.

Dawson Snyder, EI
Design Engineer III
Dawson graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May 2022 majoring in Civil Engineering. He saw Raptor Civil Engineering as the perfect firm to start his career. Dawson has a pure passion for engineering and makes sure that he delivers the best work Raptor can give. His optimism and work ethic makes him a prominent addition to the engineering team. While he is not working, Dawson likes to enjoy the Colorado outdoors such as hiking, snowboarding, and golfing!

Conrad Hawkins, EI
Design Engineer III
Conrad graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in the fall of 2021 with a degree in Architectural Engineering. His passion of architecture and design led him to start his career in construction where he enjoyed hands on experience and physically engaging work. Now working at Raptor Civil Engineering he enjoys the complex intricacies of being a design engineer. With an aptitude of learning he quickly adapted to his new role and continues to be a dependable and diligent member of the team. Planting roots in sunny Colorado, Conrad finds joy outside of work in the outdoors either skiing or backpacking.

Gabby Kinney, EI
Design Engineer III
Gabby graduated from Gonzaga University in 2021 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduating, Gabby remained in the Pacific Northwest to work in the land development industry and get to experience the beauty and nature the region has to offer. To be closer to family and home, Gabby relocated to Colorado and joined the Raptor team in 2024. She is excited to expand upon her experience, to continue to learn in the Civil Engineering industry, and to help positively impact the community she grew up in. Gabby is happy to be back in the sunshine to enjoy the outdoors hiking, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Chase Justice, EI
Design Engineer III
Chase Justice is a Design Engineer III at Raptor, originally from North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017. After graduation, Chase relocated to Colorado to pursue his career and his passion for the mountains.
With over eight years of experience in the greater Denver area, Chase has worked on a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, and roadway infrastructure development.
Outside of work, he enjoys camping, snowboarding, and playing video games.

Quentin Richmond, EI
Design Engineer I
Quentin is a General Contractor turned Designer. He graduated from the Virginia Tech in 2017 with a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural, Construction, and Land Development. After 7 years of managing construction on large scale projects, he moved to Colorado from Virginia for a change of set and setting. Now that he's at Raptor, he is eager to use his experience from the field to best inform civil design and ultimately easily coordinate with all project stakeholders. Quentin is a yoga teacher, husband, dog / plant dad, and loves to host events, trail runs, music, and traveling around the country / world.
